Nick Marchington and his €152,000 win
In a recent court case, one of the WSOP’s youngest and most promising players has successfully defended 10% of his €152,000 winnings against his former partners. The essence of the claims of the latter was that the leaders of the fund CBiscuit Poker Staking wanted to get the 10% of the prize because of its acquisition. Nick before the tournament, refused to sign this deal in favour of another and more profitable.
The WSOP had blocked 10% of Marchington’s winnings until the court ruling. After the trial, the organizers of poker’s biggest tournament returned Nick’s portion of the prize owed to him.

Paul Foie and illegal betting
Another person involved in the lawsuit this year was Paul Foix. In February, he was acquitted of charges of illegal betting in Macau at Arena Casino. The trial began back in 2014, when a police raid took place in the Chinese metropolis. The poker player’s lawyer said that his client had travelled to Macau before the championship to discuss a new project with business partners.
